The player's team of heroes fights against a variety of monsters, passing simple two-dimensional locations within a campaign. World exploration and gameplay offer only turn-based battles. More than 120 heroes are available to play, but only nine can be included into a team at a time.
Before the battle, the player can determine the formation, which slightly affects the outcome of the battle. Each hero is available to upgrade. Also, it is possible to improve the equipment and, unusually for such games, to craft some items.
