Nokia C5 Review

Nokia C5 is best for those who need a mobile under certain limit of budget. It is specially made for those who can easily afford it. It looks good and cost effective. Nokia C5 is convenient in a way to keep you connected with your friends and family and important people in your life. You can use instant messaging, email and easily check your Face book profile and update your status. It has the convenience of maps and navigation, pictures sharing, music, web browsing, messaging, social networking.

Nokia C5 is not designed to impress it users but on the same hand it does not upset or bored its user, because it has balance of features which is according to users need. User can easily send messages and emails with its fast speed. It is still following the traditional old keypad form which has numbers from 1 to 9 and has the same traditional model which was launched earlier. It has two colors white and dark grey. It has standard charging socket. You can keep this handset easily in your pocket.

The display of Nokia C5 is not very attractive because it is been followed for past several years, nothing new has come in the display to attract users. Other mobiles have WVGA and Super AMOLED screens, but C5 Nokia has small TFT screen of QVGA resolution which looks comparatively ordinary to other mobiles screens.

Nokia C5 controls include two soft keys, Menu and Clear buttons, as well as the Call and End keys. The left hand side of the Nokia C5 holds nothing but the lanyard eyelet. On the right, you get the volume rocker and the memory card slot. There are also three jacks on the top and they are microUSB port, the 3.5mm audio jack and the Nokia proprietary charger plug. At the back there is 3 megapixel camera with LED flash units.

Advantages

• The design is no doubt old but Nokia C5 supports all needs of users.
• It has fast internet access and because of speedy power user can easily send instant messages, email, SMS etc
• User can keep handset easily in his pocket due to its compact size and light weight.

Disadvantages

• Nokia C5 is an average designed phone which is outdated.
• Its display has been used for past few years and nothing new has come in design.
• One disadvantage is its small TFT display of QVGA resolution is low end and can't enjoy images or videos on it.
• Size is other problem of Nokia C5, 2.2 is not enough.

Nokia C5 keypad is not irritating at all. User is comfortable with the keypad mainly because of its navigation key is large. It can be easily handle. One very good thing about keypad is its color combination. Because of colors they are clearly visible. The background of keys is dark in color and text is light in color which makes the text prominent. There are no problems and confusion with the keypad. Other mobiles have touch screen but Nokia C5 keypad keys are solid and can be easily pressed and output is positive.

Advantages

• These days other mobiles have mostly touch screen facility but Nokia C5 does not create problems in functioning because key size are large and user can easily stick his thumb to press they keys.

Nokia C5, battery is more compatible as compare to other mobiles. Its battery remains working for longer period. The mobile is equipped with Li-Ion Battery BL-5CT of 1050 mAh. This mobile can work for one day if it is in talking terms and if it in standby position than it will be alive for 630 hours.

Advantages

• Nokia C5 battery is pretty good as compare to other mobiles.
• Battery can work for longer period.
• Quoted up to at 12 hours of talk time and 630 hours of stand by in 2G networks which sounds good.

Nokia C5 has built-in memory of 128 MB and user can use 50 MB. You can store all your data on 50 MB. It has same kind of problem like if you visit heavy web pages, it will give you problem and close your browser. To avoid any in consistency in using internet avoid using heavy web pages. It uses microSD memory cards and it has 2 GB hard disk which can be expandable to 16 GB.

Advantages

• Nokia C5 supports memory card up to 16 GB.

Disadvantages

• On problem is that memory card slot has hard hinge, it is not bendable fix which makes it fragile.
• Built memory is very slow, only 65 MB.

Nokia C5 works well when it comes to messaging. It supports all messaging types like SMS, MMS and email with attachments. Nokia C5 has all the stuff which a user needs for messaging. The only problem with is that user had to enter setting manually for his Gmail test account in order to get it work.

Advantages

Nokia C5 has a music player with good audio quality. It has common features like MP3, AAC, AAC+ and WMA, and packs a standard 3.5mm audio jack. It has Music library, from where user can select artist, albums, playlists, all songs, composers. All together Music player of Nokia C5 is fine, but one problem with it is the level of volume, it does not seem impressive when it comes to volume in terms of headphones.

Advantages

• Nokia C5 can play music up to 34 hours on a single charge with good performance.

Disadvantages

• The only area where Nokia C5 seems not fine is the loudness level, as the C5 does unimpressive in terms of in-headphone volumes.

Nokia C5 has Camera Lens Type CMOS, 3.2 Megapixel. It has LED Flash. The problem with the camera is that there is no support for auto focus. User has to be careful when handling the camera because camera has no lens protection to avoid scratches.

Advantages

You can also easily adjust the zoom level and can view the text clearly. Browser has also support of flash and java, so you can view the videos and images easily.

The only problem is of small screen display, you can not view the smaller text easily without the help of zoom. To view smaller text, you have to work manually which makes user work time consuming.

Nokia C5 supports variety of software and application, which are great help for students, business man and for daily routine work as well. You can use this software for you personals and a great help for Time management. It supports software platform & user interface which are S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2, Symbian OS version 9.3, Voice commands, Active Idle, FOTA (Firmware update Over the Air).

• It has great unit convertor, calculator and voice recorder and notes application which helps user in doing tasks.

• Alarm application is another useful tool which keeps user remind of his activities to do like notes application.

Disadvantages

• Editing document is not supported out of the box, if user wanted to get editor enabled, than he has to purchase the complete application at Nokia Download Center.

Nokia C5 is one of those affordable smart phones which have all the features according to user requirement that you rarely find these days. One very big support is the bunch of excellent features that are pre-installed like 10Mbps HSDPA and 2Mbps HSUPA, ARM11 600 MHz CPU, 128 MB RAM, GPS receiver and free lifetime voice-guided navigation license, 3.5mm audio jack, great audio quality, document viewer. But like some good things there are few things in which Nokia C5 is lacking behind like it does not have any WiFi and there is also lack of dedicated camera key with small size display.

This is the question which arises in customers mind when buying a mobile. Basically when buying a mobile, the main thing customer wants mobile to fulfill his daily requirements and it should be affordable.
